Changed my mind about asking for help after a simple question took me 2 hours to figure out

I needed to find a way to bulk delete old posts from a forum I run, and I was sure I could find the answer myself. I spent over an hour digging through old admin guides and trying random code snippets. Finally, I asked in a mod chat and someone said, 'Oh, just use the prune tool in the moderation panel.' It was right there the whole time. Has anyone else wasted a ton of time on something that was actually super simple?

Ever read that thing about how we spend more time looking for a shortcut than the task would actually take? That's me with tech stuff all the time lol

Totally saw a post about that, @oliver_anderson. It's like when I spent an hour trying to find a faster way to batch rename files. Could have just done them by hand in ten minutes. My brain just locks onto the idea there HAS to be a trick. Happens every time I try to fix my wifi too.

The thing about shortcuts is they're only worth it if you know where they are. Searching for one you don't know can waste more time than the work itself. It's a tough lesson to learn the hard way.
