Found out a hot dog costs $1.50 at Costco and $9 at a ballpark, same week
I was grabbing lunch at the Costco food court in Plano on Tuesday and paid a buck fifty for a hot dog and a soda. Then on Friday I went to a minor league baseball game in Frisco and the same basic thing cost me nine dollars. I know ballparks have overhead and all that, but seven and a half bucks more for a hot dog that was honestly not as good really got me thinking. What other everyday things have a price gap like that where you just accept it without questioning? Curious what stuff you all have noticed costing way more in one place than another.
Saw a thing about how movie theater popcorn costs like 800% more than it does to make, and people still buy it every time. Same deal with bottled water at hotels, you just pay it because you're stuck.
