Overheard a librarian in Denver talking about how she organizes ebooks

I was grabbing coffee near my local library last Tuesday and heard two librarians talking. One said she stopped sorting ebooks by author last name and started sorting them by series order instead. She said it cut the time people spend browsing in half. Made me think about how I just dump everything into a folder and hope for the best. Has anyone else tried a different way to organize their digital books?

Author name keeps series together naturally, sounds like extra work for no reason.

Did you catch that post on writing forums about how some people actually use genre tags to link series? I read this one piece where a writer said they tag all their books under "dark fantasy detective" or something specific like that. It sounded like a pain to set up but they claimed it worked better for them than using their name. Guess it depends if readers actually search by tags or just look at your author page.
