Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store who told me to try a different kind of tape
I used to just grab the cheap masking tape for painting, but the edges always bled. He said to try the blue painter's tape, specifically the 3M brand. The lines came out super clean on my kitchen cabinets. Has anyone found a better tape for tricky corners?

Ever think about how long you leave the tape on? I had a project where the blue tape worked great for a day, but I got busy and left it for almost a week. When I peeled it, some of the paint came up with it. The guy at my paint store said even the good tape has a time limit before the adhesive bonds too strong. What's the longest you've left painter's tape on without trouble?

Used to think it didn't matter, but learned the hard way. Left some on for four days once and it ripped up a whole section. Now I pull it as soon as the paint's dry to the touch.
