Spent $800 on a smart thermostat system 2 years ago and I'm still going back and forth on if it was worth it

And honestly the convenience factor alone might be worth half that cost if you're the type who forgets to adjust the temp before leaving for work lol. I had a dumb thermostat for years and the amount of times I came home to a freezing house in winter or a hot box in summer was ridiculous. If yours learns your schedule and actually saves you money on bills over time, you're probably already past the break even point.
