Talked to a retired librarian at the dog park and it messed with my head
I was at the dog park last Saturday morning, just tossing a ball for my mutt while this older lady sat on a bench with a paperback. She saw me scrolling my phone and just said "you know, you're training your brain to be bored without a screen." I laughed it off at first, but then I got home and realized I can't sit through a 3 minute microwave timer without checking something. She was reading a 600 page book about the history of salt, no phone in sight. I spent that entire afternoon trying to read a chapter of a novel without touching my phone and I failed twice. Has anyone else had a random stranger say something that got stuck in your head for days like that?

That lady's right about salt but pretty sure boredom is older than phones though.

Drop a deck of cards in your glovebox. Keeps your hands busy when you're stuck waiting and you learn some pretty cool tricks to pass the time.
