The day my coffee routine got wrecked by a 99 cent mug
I mean, I've been using the same giant ceramic mug for like 5 years. Then last Tuesday I grabbed this cheap little thrift store mug on a whim, and suddenly my morning coffee tasted way better. It was smaller so I drank it faster, and it didn't cool down as slow. Has anyone else had a dumb little change like a different cup totally shift their whole morning vibe?

Wait, you're telling me a mug actually made your coffee taste better? I used to roll my eyes at people who went on about the "right cup" for their morning brew. Honestly thought it was just snobby coffee people making stuff up to feel special. But then my kid broke my old faithful mug a few months back and I grabbed a cheap diner-style one from a gas station, and I gotta admit, something felt different. The handle was thinner so my grip was better, and the lip was thicker, which somehow made the first sip less harsh. I'm not saying it's magic or anything, but there's definitely something to the shape and weight of the thing you're drinking from. Kinda annoyed I spent years thinking it was all in people's heads.
