Why does nobody talk about the time a guy at the Chicago library asked me how to find a book on fixing old radios?
I was just looking for a quiet spot, but he came up and asked me a super specific question... I had no clue, so I just pointed to the help desk. That moment made me realize the whole 'ask anything' idea only works if people are ready to answer anything, even the weird stuff. Has anyone else gotten a question that totally threw them off?

Just smiled and said "that's a librarian question, my friend" and it worked perfectly.

Totally get that, had a guy at the hardware store ask me for advice on restoring a 19th century clawfoot tub. What's the weirdest question you've actually known the answer to?

You're gonna love this one. My buddy Dave was at a bus stop and this old lady asks him how to get a stain out of a wedding dress using just vinegar and baking soda. He's a forklift operator, not a dry cleaner. He just stood there blinking for like ten seconds before going 'uh, scrub it real hard I guess?' She looked so disappointed. To this day he still gets weirded out when strangers ask him for advice. I swear people just see a friendly face and decide you're their personal expert on anything.
