Appreciation post: My sister said my astro photos looked like 'glitter on black velvet'

I mean, I'd been chasing technical perfection for months, but her comment from our call yesterday made me realize I'd lost the simple wonder of it. Anyone else ever get so caught up in gear and processing that they forget the raw beauty of the shot?

Totally get that. I spent way too long last year trying to get the perfect milky way shot, all sharp and noise-free. Ended up with a boring, over-processed file. My favorite is still a blurry, shaky one from my first try with a cheap tripod. It just feels more real.
