Just figured out why my moon shots were always blurry

I kept getting fuzzy images even with a tripod, so I tried using a 2-second shutter delay instead of pressing the button manually. Turns out the vibration from my finger was ruining every photo. Has anyone else had this fix work for their astrophotography setup?

Honestly, I spent three full nights convinced my tripod was haunted or my lens was cursed before I tried the delay trick. My first moon shot looked like a blurry ping pong ball that had been stung by bees. Ngl, pressing the shutter button feels like you're gently tickling the camera but it's actually a full body earthquake. Tbh I laugh every time I see people bragging about their "sharp" handheld moon photos now.

Used to roll my eyes at people who swore by the delay trick (like, how much difference could it REALLY make?), but then I tried it on a windy night and holy cow. My moon shots went from that weird jellyfish blob look to actually showing craters and stuff. It's wild how something so small changes everything, honestly never going back to pressing the shutter manually unless I'm on a solid surface or something. The mirror slap or whatever it's called really does mess things up way more than you'd think, even with a tripod that costs more than my rent. Now I'm that person laughing at handheld moon photos too, which is kinda embarrassing but also true.
