My buddy swore you need a star tracker for Orion, got this shot with just a tripod and 15 sec subs
Everyone in my local club kept saying you can't get clean nebula detail without a tracking mount, but I stacked 40 shots at 15 seconds each on a cheap tripod and the Orion Nebula came out way better than I expected. The trick was just taking way more frames than I thought I needed and throwing out the blurry ones, got about 28 keepers out of 40. Anyone else shooting untracked and have a sweet spot for sub length before star trails show up?
