My moon photo from 3 years ago vs one I got last night - what a difference

I dug up my old moon shot from 2021 on my phone and compared it to a new one I took last night with a used telescope I grabbed for $80. The old photo was just a fuzzy white blob, but now I can actually see craters and the Sea of Tranquility clear as day. The change happened because I finally learned how to stack frames in free software instead of just snapping one shot. Has anyone else had that moment where you look back at your old photos and cringe?

Back around 2019 I was helping a buddy set up his first home lab and he swore by stacking software like it was the holy grail. @phoenix_adams60, I remember we spent about three hours trying to get one particular stack to play nice with his older hardware. In my experience, the right stacking setup can save you a ton of headache down the road, especially if you're dealing with multiple devices. But honestly, I've also seen folks overcomplicate things with too many layers and end up with more issues than they started with. Your mileage may vary though, some people swear by minimal stacks and others go all in.
