Stacking multiple exposures changed my moon shots completely

I used to think stacking was just for deep sky stuff, not the moon. Then I tried it last month with my DSLR and a 200mm lens, took about 15 frames and ran them through Autostakkert. The detail in the craters came out way sharper than any single shot I ever got, even on a clear night. Has anyone else had that moment where a processing method they ignored turned out to be legit?

Straight up, stacking is the move for the moon. I did the same thing with a cheap 300mm lens and a DSLR, took about 20 frames when the sky was steady. Autostakkert sorted them, I used maybe the best 60%, and the final shot had crater rims that looked 3D. A single frame always gets washed out by atmospheric wobble, but stacking freezes those clear moments. If you haven't tried PIPP to crop and center the moon before Autostakkert, it saves a ton of processing time too.

Whoa wait only 20 frames? That's wild.
