Thought stacking 200 moon shots was a gimmick until my first try in Tucson
I figured free software could never pull detail out of 200 shaky frames, but last month I let Autostakkert chew through a batch from my back porch and the crater rims came out way sharper than any single shot. Now I'm wondering how many frames you all stack before it stops helping and just adds noise?
Been there with the shaky frame doubt, and yeah, Tucson skies will spoil you once the stacking actually works. Around 50 to 100 frames tends to be the sweet spot for me, past that it mostly just piles on noise.
