Used to hate stacked astro shots, now I get it
I spent like 2 years telling people stacking was just cheating and you should get the shot in one frame. Then my buddy Mark kept bugging me to try DeepSkyStacker on my Andromeda shots from last September. I finally did it with just 12 frames at 30 seconds each. That single stacked image had way more detail than any single exposure I'd ever taken of the core. Anyone else have a similar change of heart about image processing tools?

12 frames at 30 seconds? You basically just discovered turning the lights on. I still tell myself I'm a "purist" while secretly stacking everything now.
