Finally gave in and hired a landscaper after 5 years of doing it myself
I spent $350 on a one-time clean-up and weed treatment for my front yard, and the difference is night and day. The time I saved not fighting with the edger and trimmer for three hours was honestly worth it. Has anyone else found a good middle ground between DIY and full service?

You said "you can do it in a weekend" but honestly not everyone has a whole weekend to fight with their yard. I work 50 hour weeks sometimes and the last thing I want to do on my one day off is mix chemicals and wrestle with a rental trimmer from Home Depot that someone else beat up. Also that concentrate stuff is strong, I tried it once and killed half my flower bed because I mixed it wrong. $350 for someone else to do it right and not mess up my plants feels like a fair deal to me. Time is money too, not just the hourly rate at your job.

Just go to Home Depot and rent a trimmer for half a day for like $40. Thats what I do and saves a ton of money. Also those weed treatments are mostly water and dye anyway, you can buy the concentrate for cheap and mix it yourself with a garden sprayer. Unless you physically cant do the work or you make like $100 an hour at your job, paying $350 for something you can do in a weekend feels like lighting money on fire.
