I finally figured out why my attic fan was running all day in July
Turns out my thermostat was set to 'on' instead of 'auto' and the fan was pulling hot attic air into the house nonstop. Anyone else make that mistake or is it just me?

Always assumed leaving the fan on was harmless since moving air feels cooler. Then I got the same crazy power bill and now the switch stays on auto all summer.
