My inspector said my 1962 ranch had no foundation issues, 8 months later I found a 6 inch crack in the slab
Bought a place over in Decatur back in 2023 and the inspector I hired said the slab was solid, just normal settling for the age. Fast forward to this past March and I'm moving a rug in the back room and there's a crack running along the whole wall, plus the door started sticking. Got a second opinion from a guy who actually does foundation work and he said it should've been flagged on day one. Cost me $4,200 to get it pinned and now I'm wondering if I have any kind of recourse with the first inspector. Has anyone else dealt with an inspector missing something big like this?
