TIL that paying $400 for a home inspection was actually worth it
I was dead set against spending that much just for a guy to walk around with a flashlight. But he found a slow leak under my slab in Decatur that would've cost me $3k to fix later. Has anyone else had a inspector find something they almost missed?

Well, did he use a thermal camera or just the old flashlight trick?

Yeah I hear you @wright.jesse but I think he just used the old flashlight trick honestly. No thermal camera, no fancy gadgets. And he still caught the leak because he noticed the floor felt a little bouncy in one spot and checked the crawlspace. That's the thing with these older houses in Decatur, they hide stuff in ways that even thermal cameras miss sometimes. I was mad about the cost going in but now I get it, sometimes the basic stuff is all you need if the guy knows what he's looking for.
