Visited the new Ace Hardware in Buckhead and it totally changed my mind about big box stores
I've been strictly Home Depot for years because I figured they'd have everything cheaper and in stock. But I stopped into that new Ace on Peachtree last weekend because I needed a single weird-sized washer for a leaky outdoor spigot. The guy behind the counter actually walked me back to the hardware aisle, found the exact size in like 30 seconds, and even showed me how to wrap it with Teflon tape for a better seal. At Home Depot I would've spent 20 minutes wandering around or had to buy a whole pack of 50 washers for $8. This one washer cost me like 40 cents and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Plus their parking lot is way less of a nightmare than the Home Depot on Piedmont. Has anyone else had better luck at local hardware stores for small random fixes around the house?

Totally feel you on this, the Ace in Buckhead is a game changer for exactly those tiny annoying tasks. I had the same kind of moment when I needed a single oddball o-ring for a kitchen faucet and the guy actually matched it by sight from a drawer full of them. It's just nice to walk out feeling like you didn't waste your entire afternoon fighting crowds.

Ha, @david_hayes that o-ring story is pure gold.
