3 inches of ice dam water in my shop stall last month

My Polaris 550 fan cooled decided to eat its own belt right as I was pulling out of the drive. That was bad enough but I left it in the shop stall for three days while I ordered parts. Turns out my roof gutters backed up and melted ice ran right under the door. Ended up with water up past the tires and a soggy shop floor. Spent a whole Saturday with a shop vac and fans plus replaced the belt. Anyone else get their sled soaked while it was just sitting there?

That melted ice finding its way under the door is a REAL bummer. Maybe check your door seal after the water dried up, sometimes the rubber gets stiff in the cold and leaves a gap you cant see.

Yeah but door seals are usually magnetic on freezers, not rubber like a regular door. The cold stiffening thing is more about the gasket on a fridge or car door. If it's a chest freezer the seal is probably fine, the real issue is water pooling on top of the lid or around the edges when you open it. That melted water runs right down into the crack and freezes again before it can drip off. Maybe wiping the rim dry before closing would help more than checking the seal.
