Debate: Did that $200 heated visor actually save my ride or just waste my cash?

So I dropped 200 bucks on a heated visor for my snowmobile helmet this winter, thinking it would finally solve my fogging problems on cold mornings. First few rides up near Ironwood, it worked great no fog, clear vision, felt like a genius. But then last month the heating element started flickering on and off, and on a 10 degree day it just died completely. Left me wiping the inside of my visor with a glove every 5 minutes for 30 miles. Now I'm wondering if I should have just stuck with anti fog spray and a breath box for like 30 bucks total. What do you guys think? Has anyone else had bad luck with heated visors or did I just get a lemon?

Wait is this a common issue with those things or did you just get a bad one? I've been thinking about getting one but now I'm wondering if the heating element is the weak link that fails after a season or two.

Yeah but how many people actually take care of their stuff properly, @luna_craig58? I've had mine for three winters and the heating element is still going strong, so maybe it's more about maintenance than the design.
