Found a beaver dam blocking the whole trail near Grand Rapids and I have never been so happy to turn around
Rode the North Country trail outside Grand Rapids last weekend and about 4 miles in the whole path was under water. Turns out a beaver dam backed up a creek and flooded maybe 200 feet of trail, water deep enough that my front tires disappeared. I sat there for a minute just staring at it because I have never seen a beaver dam up close like that, sticks stacked tight as a log cabin. I ended up backing out the way I came, which was honestly fine since the ride in was great and I got to see the whole thing twice. Checked with the local club after and they said the same dam has been flooding that section every spring for 3 years now. So what do you all do when a trail gets blocked like that, just turn around or is there a way around I missed?
