Had my sled's throttle cable snap at the worst possible time
Was out on a trail near Eagle River last Saturday, about 15 miles from the truck, when I went to give it gas and got nothing. The cable housing looked fine, but the actual wire inside had frayed and finally let go. I had to rig a temporary pull with some paracord from my pack just to get moving again. Anyone know a good brand for a more durable replacement cable that can handle the cold?

That paracord fix is pretty clever, honestly. When you say the housing looked fine, did you check where it goes into the throttle lever on the handlebars? That's always the spot where mine get a hidden kink and start to fray from the inside out.

Yeah I pulled the whole housing out to check. The end at the lever looked clean, no sharp bends. The fray was about six inches back from the grip, right where the cable runs under the tank. Must have been rubbing on a bracket.
