I finally figured out why my snowmobile kept getting stuck in deep powder
For two whole seasons, I was fighting my machine in the backcountry near McCall. Always bogging down, always digging in. Thought it was just bad luck. Then a guy at the trailhead last month watched me take off and just shook his head. He walked over and said, 'You're riding it like an ATV. You gotta stand up and shift your weight forward, man.' That was it. I was sitting back, letting the skis plow. Tried his way on the next run. Night and day difference. The sled just floated over the top. Felt like a whole new machine. How many other basic riding techniques are people missing out on?

Man, that's so true. Used to think you just pointed the thing and went, but body position changes everything. Had the same lightbulb moment with sidehilling, was always scared to lean up the hill until someone showed me. Now it feels glued to the slope instead of washing out.

Yeah, that lean up the hill thing is key.
