Just dropped $120 on a new track for my old Polaris and it feels like a brand new machine.
The old one was so worn down it was basically a slick, but this new 1.5 inch lug track hooks up so much better in the deep powder we got up near Marquette last weekend, has anyone else had a single upgrade make that big of a difference?

My uncle up in the Keweenaw swears by putting a 1.75 inch series 4 track on his old Ski-Doo. He said it was the only thing that kept him from getting stuck in the slush last spring. He didn't touch the clutch or skis at all that season. It just clawed its way out of everything. It made me realize a track can be a total game changer if the old one was just completely shot.

My old Polaris track was so bald it looked like a racing slick, I mean it was embarrassing. I get what finley_craig53 is saying about the whole setup, but man, a fresh track just makes you forget about the other old stuff for a little while. Maybe I just have low standards, idk.

Honestly, I've never felt a single part swap was that huge. For me, it's always been about the whole setup working together. A new track alone still has to deal with old suspension and a worn-out clutch. Maybe my expectations are just lower, but I've put on tracks and been kinda let down by the overall result. The sled still feels old in other ways that hold it back.
