My 1998 Indy clocked 10,000 miles on the same belt and I'm not sure if that's luck or a warning
Was cleaning up the garage last Saturday and the odometer on my old Indy caught my eye, right at 10,042 miles. What got me was the belt. Same one I put on back in maybe 2016, and I never once pulled it to check the width or look for cords showing. I just kept riding it, topping off the chaincase, and telling myself I'd swap it "next season." So I finally cracked it open this weekend and the thing looks almost new, which honestly made me more nervous than if it was chewed up. Now I'm second guessing every spare belt I ever bought and wondering if I've been overthinking belt wear this whole time. Any of you run a belt that long on purpose, or do you just swap it every couple seasons no matter what it looks like? I feel like I'm missing something here.
