My snowmobile is too quiet, and I love it that way

Everyone in my riding group says my snowmobile is too quiet because it's an older model with a muffler. They claim a loud roar means more power, but that's just not true. I've had this sled for years, and it handles deep powder better than their new ones. The quiet lets me focus on the trail and not annoy everyone around.

Hold up, they said quiet sleds have better torque? That goes against everything most guys yell about at the trailhead. I always heard the roar was supposed to mean the engine is working harder, but if a quiet muffler actually helps low end power, that changes things. Maybe all that noise really is just for show and it's been hurting performance this whole time. I need to look into this more because it makes my whole group sound wrong.

I saw a thread last winter where riders argued quiet sleds actually have better torque.
