Pro tip: Heard a guy at the gas station in Duluth say he never checks his sled's belt until it's too late.

He mentioned his belt snapped 15 miles from the trailhead last season and he had to get towed. How often do you all actually inspect yours?

That's a rough way to learn the lesson. Makes sense to just check it quick every time you fuel up, takes two minutes.

Gotta disagree there man. Two minutes every fuel up adds up to a lot of wasted time when a belt usually gives you plenty of warning before it blows.

Yeah, gotta be honest, I'm not checking mine every single gas stop like logan632 said. That feels like overkill unless you're riding some ancient sled. I give mine a solid look when I'm doing my pre-season check and maybe once or twice during the year if I'm putting on a ton of miles. If your belt is that close to going, you'll usually hear it or smell it first lol. Just keeping a spare on the sled has saved me way more than constant checking.
