Rant: My buddy in Duluth said something about trail riding that got under my skin
We were talking about the big snow last week and he said, 'You know, you don't need a 900 to have fun, my old 500 does just fine.' I've been saving for a new machine for a year, thinking I needed more power. Now I'm second-guessing the whole plan and wondering if I should just fix up my current ride. Anyone else have a friend make you rethink a big purchase like that?

Yeah, "hits way too close to home" is the perfect way to put it. It's like they accidentally shine a light on all the doubts you were trying to ignore. Makes you wonder if you're just chasing specs for no real reason.

Honestly read this article about how tech reviews create fake needs. They said we get tricked into wanting the next number upgrade, like more megapixels or a faster chip, even when the old one works fine. It basically makes you feel behind for no good reason. Tbh it made me look at my own phone and wonder why I even want a new one.
