Rant: That guy at the gas station who laughed at my worn out track

He pointed at my ripped lugs near Lake George last fall and said I was gonna get stranded before noon, and sure enough I snapped a drive belt 3 miles into the trail because the track slippage cooked it.

Oh come on, you gotta give the guy a little bit of credit. He called it before it happened, that's basically a free warning right there. If someone told me my worn out track was gonna strand me and I ignored them, I'd be more mad at myself than at them. Plus ripped lugs near Lake George in the fall is asking for trouble with all that wet slop on the ground. Sounds like you needed new rubber way before you left, not after you got stuck.

Used to think that guy was just a jerk rubbing it in, but @fiona_clark is right. He basically handed me a free heads up and I just ignored it cause I was embarrassed about the track. My own fault for not listening.
