Swapped my Skidoo for a Polaris this season, still on the fence about it

Been riding a 2015 Skidoo Renegade for like 4 years and it treated me good. But found a deal on a 2022 Polaris 850 Switchback last fall for $8k and jumped on it. Thing is, I miss the handling in tight trails but love the power on open runs. Anyone else make a switch like this and end up regretting it or glad they did? What did you land on?

That "miss the handling but love the power" is exactly what I've seen happen with every big switch like this, it's like when you upgrade your truck and suddenly notice every bump you never felt before lol. You basically traded the nimble scalpel for a sledgehammer, and the real question is what kind of riding you do 80% of the time. Give it a full season of different conditions and you'll know for sure what matters more in the long run.

Honestly, it's the same thing with just about any upgrade in life, not just bikes or trucks. You trade something comfortable and known for something bigger and stronger, and suddenly all the little quirks you used to ignore become glaringly obvious. It's like getting a faster phone but noticing the battery drains faster, or a bigger house and finding out the heating bill is three times worse. Really makes you wonder if we're even designed to handle that much power without some kind of learning curve. Tbh, time usually tells you what you're willing to put up with for the extra oomph.
