Took my old Arctic Cat out after rebuilding the carb... night and day difference from before.
Had this 1998 Bearcat that was running rough for years... sputtering on the trail, hard to start in the cold. Finally bit the bullet last weekend and tore the carb down. Found the pilot jet was completely gummed up. Cleaned everything out, new gasket kit, set the float height right. Took it out on the logging roads near my cabin yesterday. Starts on the first pull now, idles smooth, pulls strong up the hills. Never realized how much power I was losing. Anyone else have a machine that felt like a totally different sled after a simple fix like that?

Did you check the reeds while you had the carb off? I've seen a lot of older Cats run way better after a carb rebuild, but sometimes a brittle reed petal is the real culprit hiding behind the jetting issues. Just something to think about before you chase any other gremlins.
