Unpopular opinion: my sled's belt blew 10 miles out on the trail near Skagway last week and I'm kinda glad it happened

Had to limp back on an older spare belt I keep stashed in the tunnel bag, and honestly it forced me to check my clutch alignment which was way off. Anyone else find that a breakdown saves them from a bigger repair later?

Always check the clutches after a belt lets go. That misalignment probably would've grenaded something expensive a few weeks later.

Yeah totally agree with @kaip11... I've seen way too many people just slap a new belt on and call it good. That clutch misalignment will eat up bearings and seals in no time if you don't catch it. Always worth pulling the clutch and checking the runout after something like that happens. Saves a headache down the road for sure.
