Why does my 1998 Ski-Doo start on the first pull now after sitting 4 months in the garage?
I pulled the carbs and found the pilot jets clogged solid with green gunk, so I soaked them in Berryman for an hour and now it fires up cold with one pull. Anyone else's old sled turn into a totally different machine after one dumb 20 minute cleaning job?
Bet that old girl sat there laughing at you every time you yanked the cord for four months. Green gunk in the pilot jets is just old gas turning to varnish, and it happens to every sled that sits. Clean those tiny holes out and suddenly it runs like it did when it was new, which is funny since the fix takes less time than loading it on the trailer. You basically got a free rebuild out of a can of carb dip.
