Why does nobody talk about how track tension changes everything on snowmobiles
Last winter a guy at the trailhead in Big Lake told me my track was way too loose. I always ran it factory spec and thought it was fine. He showed me how it was sagging an inch more than it should. I tightened it up about 3/4 inch and my sled hooked up way better in powder. No more track slip on hardpack either. Has anyone else found better handling after ignoring the manual's tension chart?

Hold on, wait. @grant826, yeah I ran it at factory spec for two whole seasons. I was actually shocked when that guy showed me how much it was drooping. I felt like a total idiot honestly. Its crazy how much the manual can be off. I think the factory setting might be for like a showroom floor not actually riding in the snow. Once I tightened it up the whole sled just felt planted. Made me wonder what else Ive been doing wrong for years.
