Winter ATV tire pressure check changed my rides
Was out on a trail last December. My ATV felt sluggish and wobbly. Stopped to look and the tires were low. Learned that cold air shrinks, so pressure drops. Now I carry a small pressure gauge in my gear bag. Check before every cold weather ride. It makes steering way better and avoids blowouts. Had a smooth season after starting this habit.

But is it really that serious... cold weather pressure drops aren't usually that drastic.

My Yamaha Grizzly up in Maine lost almost 8 psi overnight when temps hit zero. I had the same sluggish feeling until I topped them off. Now I check with a cheap pencil gauge before I even start the engine. The ride is so much more stable, and I haven't had a single tire issue since. It's one of those small things that really matters when it's cold.
