A customer in Boise insisted I skip the primer on his truck's quarter panel
He was adamant that a direct-to-metal epoxy was just extra cost and time, saying 'it's all going under paint anyway' right in my bay. I explained how skipping that step invites rust and adhesion failure down the road, but he just wouldn't budge. Has anyone else had a client fight you on a fundamental prep step like that?

Oh man, that's rough (and honestly a bit backwards). The epoxy primer is what bonds to the metal, your paint bonds to that.

But did he ever say why he was so against it? I mean, you already told him it's going to rust. Is he just cheap, or does he think he knows better?
