Customer said my blend was 'too perfect' and it bugged me for a week

Last month at the shop in Phoenix, a guy with a silver F-150 pointed at my fade line and said it looked like a sticker, not paint. I spent 3 hours on that blend, wet sanding twice to get it seamless. He wanted to see some orange peel up close, said factory paint has texture even when it's clean. Now I check the surrounding panels under a 10x loupe before I call a job done, and I've changed my sanding grit on metallics to match the factory more. Anybody else get feedback that made you question your whole process, or is this guy just crazy?
