Had a customer's new clear coat cloud up after a 90 degree day in Phoenix

I was finishing a full respray on a 2018 F-150, using a mid-grade clear I've trusted for years, and left it to cure overnight in the booth. The next morning, the whole hood had a milky haze that wouldn't buff out. I had to sand it all back down and re-spray, which ate up a full day of labor I couldn't charge for. Has anyone else had a clear fail like that from heat alone, and what brand did you switch to?

Check the humidity in your booth, not just the heat. That milky haze is usually moisture trapped under the clear from high humidity overnight. A good dehumidifier in the shop makes a bigger difference than switching brands.

Clear can blush from heat if it cures too fast before the solvents fully escape. Try slowing down the flash-off time between coats on extreme heat days, even if it means waiting longer. A slower activator might help more than a whole new product line.
