Had an old Mercedes hood come out like new after a wet sand
I had a 2005 Mercedes C class come in last month with clear coat peeling all over the hood. The owner wanted to just spray over it but I convinced him to let me try wet sanding first with 1500 then 3000 grit. Took me about 3 hours of careful work but the haze cleared up and it looked way better than I expected. Have you guys had luck saving original paint with just sanding instead of a full respray?

I had a similar result on an old Honda Accord hood (2001) after wet sanding with 2000 grit, it came out like glass.
