Hot take: You are probably over-sanding your primer jobs

I spent two hours on a Honda Civic last week trying to fix orange peel that wouldnt go away, then realized I was sanding the primer too smooth before paint. Does anyone else run into adhesion issues when the primer gets too slick?

Ha man I saw my buddy do the same thing on his truck and the paint started flaking off a week later.

Yeah the "paint started flaking off a week later" part hits close to home. I tried to repaint my old Honda's bumper with a rattle can in my driveway and it looked okay for like two days. Then it started peeling off in sheets whenever I washed it. Looked like a bad sunburn.
