Just realized I wasted $300 on a paint prep tool that broke after two jobs

I bought one of those new electric sanding blocks for a big job on a Ford F-150 last month. It worked fine for the first two panels, but on the third, the motor just burned out and started smoking. The company said it wasn't covered because I used it 'for professional work' even though their ad showed a shop using it. Ended up having to finish the job by hand, which set me back half a day. Has anyone found a good, tough sander for body work that actually lasts?

Ugh, that's the classic bait and switch. They show it in a pro setting but the second it breaks, you're suddenly not using it right. I've had way better luck with older, corded models from the big brands for real work.

Saw a whole thread about this last week. People were saying the warranty basically doesn't cover anything if you use it daily. Makes sense why the old stuff lasts longer.
