Two-stage clearcoat vs single stage on a black fender, big difference
Did a black fender last month with single stage because I was in a hurry, looked flat and hazy after a week. Redid it with two-stage clearcoat from the same shop in Tulsa and the depth is way better, plus it buffs out easier. Anyone else notice single stage just doesn't hold up on metallics?

Honestly I used to swear by single stage on everything, thought clearcoat was just extra steps for guys who had time to waste. But after that fender, yeah I'm fully converted, the depth on metallics is night and day and you don't get that weird milky haze over time. @the_ben no but I did rush the first job, that was my own fault for not just waiting for the booth to open up. Two-stage just lays down flatter and covers up my sanding marks way better, buffing it out actually feels like something's happening instead of burning through. Plus on black you can already see the single stage starting to chalk at the edges, never again.
