Warning: I sanded primer with 180 grit for years until my paint guy in Fresno called me out
I was blocking out a fender with 180 grit before sealer and my buddy Ray, who has sprayed for 22 years, picked up my paper and just stared at it. He said 320 dry or 400 wet is where you stop, because 180 scratches swell up and show through the base like a roadmap. Re-did the whole panel and the finish laid out glassy the first time. What grit are you all finishing with before sealer?
