Warning: The 3M Perfect-It compound I swore by for years just failed me on a black car
Last week in the shop, I was doing a final polish on a black Mercedes hood. I've used the same 3M compound for probably three years straight on everything. The sun hit it just right and I saw a haze I couldn't get out, no matter the pad or speed. Had to switch to a different brand's finishing polish to save it. It was a real wake-up call that one product doesn't fit every paint system. Anyone else run into a go-to product that just didn't work on a specific job?

Happens with everything from car polish to phone chargers. Companies change formulas or materials on us and don't say a word. Makes you wonder what else you trust that's not the same anymore.
