Okay, "changed my approach" is putting it lightly. I saw a guy try to fix a lawnmower cover with a soldering iron and a butter knife, so honestly, a backing strip sounds like NASA work. My go-to method is usually a lot of cussing and then ordering a new part online. What kind of backing strip are we even talking about here?
