Dropped 120 bucks on an OBD2 scanner that barely worked

Bought one of those cheap Bluetooth scanners off Amazon to diagnose a check engine light on my 2010 Ford. It kept losing connection mid-read and gave me wrong codes twice. What scanners do you guys trust for daily shop use?

Snagged one of those cheap ones myself a couple years back and it drove me nuts for a week before I tossed it in the junk drawer. Ended up borrowing my buddy's Autel from his shop and that thing read everything perfect even on my old clunker. Now I just use a standalone reader from Autozone that cost me like 80 bucks and it's been solid for two years no drops no wrong codes. Bluetooth stuff is too hit or miss for real work, stick with a wired one that plugs straight in and you'll be fine.

The real thing nobody talks about is how those cheap bluetooth ones can mess with your car's computer if they glitch out mid-scan. Heard a story from a mechanic buddy about a guy who fried his ECU because the adapter shorted something while it was writing data.
