Got handed a 2003 F-150 with a misfire that took me 4 hours to find
Customer brought it in last Thursday, said they changed plugs and coils already. I checked compression, fuel pressure, even ran a power balance test - nothing. Finally pulled the wiring harness apart and found a chafed wire under the intake manifold where the harness rubbed against a bracket. $12 fix after 4 hours of labor. I bill by the job not the hour so I ate that time. Has anyone else run into dumb hidden rub-throughs on these trucks?

Used to think those harness rubs were rare... this changed my mind for sure.

Wait, you mean the fur actually rubbed off down to the skin? I thought that only happened in really extreme cases or with poorly fitted gear. I've had a couple of dogs with sensitive spots before but never anything that bad. @sullivan.abby that photo you shared was honestly hard to look at, I can't believe how raw it got before anyone noticed. I guess some breeds with thinner coats or short hair are way more prone to it than I realized. Makes me want to double check every strap on my own dogs right now just to be safe.
