Swallowed my pride and tried the tap test, saved me a ton of cash lol.

Man, that's it exactly. It's that stubborn pride thing. We ignore good advice just because we don't like who it's coming from, or we think we know better. I've done it with car stuff, home repair, you name it. You waste so much time and money fighting it, only to end up doing the simple thing the old guy told you to do in the first place. It's a hard lesson to learn.

Yeah, that stubborn pride thing @hugobarnes mentioned is so real. It's like you get this idea stuck in your head that a problem has to be big and expensive to fix. You ignore the simple, free check because it feels too easy. How many times have you talked yourself into a harder job before even trying the basic stuff?
